Feel the Attitude

Oil on board, 120*90 cm. November 2011.

This is one of the three bigger oil paintings on my exhibition “Out of Comfort Zone”. I had had the vision of a nice, muscular male figure for a while and I found just the right model by the time of the project. We made a photoshoot first, because of lack of time and I enjoyed both, shooting and painting it.

Secco of Goya’s fresco

Secco, 60*70 cm. May 2010

This one is from my second course in college. We had a historical secco painting course and I chose Goya because I have always been somehow fascinated about his work, something overnatural, especially lighter and softer pieces:) And there’s something about me and angels…

Morning Crisp

Oil on board, 50*75 cm. October 2011

It’s another painting from our studio-painting course. With this one, I felt really free with colours. Didn’t want it to be too colourful, but the mild combination of green, pink and gray, and then this burning red as an accent felt right. Still enjoy the attitude of the model!

Tension

Oil on board, 60*80 cm, October 2011

This is my first painting in studio painting this semester. I totally enjoyed to take the brush and paints again and just feel it. I liked the attitude of the model, she was a little bit tense, but seemed to have some kind of arrogant or confident attitude that suited to my painting:)

City is my Playground

Oil on board, 90*120 cm. Spring 2011.

It’s a painting of my friend Jorma. The concept has different levels, but it started from an independent task in studio painting – topic was “City”. My inspirations began from the movie \”My Playground\”. City is more than just tons of concrete. And parkour is more than just rebellion – it’s about architecture, motion, strength, sport, lifestyle. And like Jorma said “Adrenaline is better than blood”.

Copy of Velazquez “Arachne”

Oil on canvas, 75*85 cm. Spring 2011.

I painted this during our course of historical replica. We prepared the canvas ourselves and painted in layers. I chose “Arachne” because of the soft lights and shadows and the way depth is created, I feel the feeling in the picture:)

In the Circle

Oil on round board, diameter about 100 cm. Spring 2011.

I got fascinated of strong brushstrokes, the combination of bright colours and almost black and white variations. From the very first moment when I saw the round board, I wanted to create “fisheye” effect. Enjoyed it!
