On 21.11.11 I had the opening of my (as you already know:) very first personal exhibition. Although I had only 11 days to do the experiment, I discovered a lot during this time. First of all, it took me a little bit time to get into the flow, but since I gave myself totally free hands as far as material, technique and dimensions – I really started to enjoy it and I let myself free. I decided not to try to change things that happen to me during the process, just to accept them and take it as part of the experiment.
Since the project was about getting to know myself and the world around me, I took photos of the moments that were somehow significant, I used school assignments and painted people who I see or don’t see daily. I like the way different people saw the different aspects of my personality in the letters that they sent, answering questions about me. I found some things surprising as well.
At some point of the time, I had so many ideas and I was so in the action, that it was hard to concentrate on those million obligations and events that I had during these 11 days. What I discovered, was that it’s impossible to realize ALL of my ideas in 11 days:) And another discovery was that I have a lot of amazing people around me, who are interested in what I am doing, come along with me and help me a lot with making my crazy thoughts to come through. Thank you, everybody!:)
And of course, we came to the idea to take photos at the end of the opening when most of the people had already left. It’s so me:)
Here it finally is! My own exhibition with my very own experiment:)
11 days. Experiment with myself – to live inside the art with my whole body and mind and create from everything and to everything around me. And then – put it out for public. I’m playing with borders and trying to cross them. The freedom to be myself or somebody else.
We are currently working on a exhibition project in our creative project course. The task was to create 3-4 portraits in a totally free technique, media and composition. This is my input in process, there might come some additional ones and I’m still working on these (they are 60*80 cm, oil on board).
This is just a moment of the process of my painting “Meditation”. It’s an independent piece in our studio painting course and is inspired by my summer feelings and experiences – time of confusion, hard work, thinking, finding myself, being in the whirl of million experiences and peace at the same time. The final solution is process:)

As I got back from the USA this fall, the very first week we had a visiting lecturer from Norway – Irma Salo Jaeger. We had a short course with her in our gallery NOORUS and we’ll make some paintings inspired by her and with the techniques she thought to us.
It was probably the perfect way to get back to art and school. She’s the happiest and most cheerful 82-year-old lady that I have seen and her attitude and thoughts about art, painting, colours – amazing:) And you can really see her personality in her art.
On this page you can see my artwork from last couple of years and can follow my newer projects and ideas. I plan to update it in every couple of days, so feel free to visit and see what’s currently in action or what I have recently found from my “archives”!:)
P.S. The site is still in progress, so I’m planning to add Estonian language soon!
